Mommy, Daddy, Me!

Jared loves saying "Mommy, Daddy, Me!" and pointing to all of us.  It's just so cute.

We went up to my parents' house and cabin to visit this Memorial Day weekend.  Jared did pretty well on the drives, especially since the drive up was 6 1/2 hours.  Jared enjoyed visiting with Pappy, who he calls both of my parents since he can't say Grammy yet.  My parents took him on long walks, watched chipmunks, smelled flowers, and watched the traffic on their road.  We took him to the awesome playground in their town every day!  He especially liked climbing through all of the tunnels.

Then we all went to the cabin.  Jared loves running down the lane and looking at all of the trees.  He liked smelling Jim's flowers, but was disappointed that only two strawberries were ripe enough to eat.  I didn't realize until it was too late, but he ate the entire strawberry, leaves and all, the first time.  He didn't understand why he couldn't eat the green ones!  He was pulling at a green strawberry so hard that when it finally let go, he fell onto his butt!
He also got chauffeured around in Jim's wheelbarrow, which I think he liked, but he was a little afraid.

My Dad nicknamed the new baby "Plus One" after the title of this blog.  Jared's nickname was Bumpy, so I guess silly nicknames are to be expected.

Jared is already figuring out the art of procrastination.  When we tell him "one more book" before bed, we usually end up reading two.  Unbeknownst to him, I tell him one more book, and count on two being read.  So Mom wins this round. :)
